Climate change is upon us. The scientists are now only arguing about how bad it is, not whether it is happening.
As an individual, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the problem and helpless to fix it. The good news is that if enough people do something we can make the politicians and leaders of industry take note. That's when the real action starts.
At Shine we are doing our small bit to help. As of now, Shine has a policy to be carbon neutral.
This year, that means investing in a carbon sink to account for the Carbon Dioxide that is released due to our power consumption and airline flights. This totals just over 100 tonnes of CO2.
If you want to help the environment, here are a few practical ways to help:
- Tell people about companies that are carbon neutral
- Ask your company whether it is carbon neutral
- Install low voltage globes in your home
- Take a train, tram or bus instead of your car
- Invest in carbon sinks via accredited sources
