Shine Technologies has recently implemented an Automated Regression Testing Tool (ARTT) for a major Australian bank.

Based on Asset Control (http://www.asset-control.com/), this was an initial three-month project involving a dedicated on-site Shine team.  “ARTT has been created to fit seamlessly into the broader Continuous Integration Strategy implemented by Shine.  This allows nightly and on-demand regression testing to be continually applied to the developing code base.  The result is immediate feedback to the project highlighting issues in a timely manner.,” stated Stephen Callaghan, Executive, Shine Technologies.

ARTT automates the time consuming and costly manual regression testing usually associated with such a large and intensive project.  It was built upon freely available open source products and in particular JMeter (http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter) to provide a solution that did not involve a heavy technical knowledge on the part of the end user to operate, allowing testers to concentrate on the business details.

“The timely completion of the project by Shine has resulted in the implementation of efficiencies for the bank including reducing a significant amount of time and risk in the delivery of business outcomes.” stated Stephen Callaghan, Executive, Shine Technologies.

Shine Technologies will continue to provide on-site development and support services assisting in the further implementation of key strategies.
